The idea for the web series started out as comedic short film, called “The Super Duper Gang” that I wrote back in 2005. I carried that script around with me for quite a while trying to get it made and finally shelving it after a couple of years. The idea for a super hero short resurfaced again while talking with an actress friend of mine who mentioned she was ready to play a Wonder Woman type of role. In trying to come up with an idea for a short that I could cast her in, I struck upon the idea for The Super Femmes and decided to change the format from a short film to a web series in an effort to jump into the online distribution fray.

I partnered with Tim Bell, an entrepreneur and friend I had worked with on a music video, and together we launched The Super Femmes LLC, a company created for the sole purpose of producing and distributing this series. After a couple of months of pre-production we began rolling camera to film our pilot episode.

 

After getting some positive feedback and seeing the pilot perform well online we decide to move forward with shooting the entire season one. We are excited to roll out the remaining episodes and can't wait to share our series with the world. Thank you for being a fan of our show and hopefully we'll get a chance to make a season two!
