This compulsion of his would carry over into other areas, most notable his love for smoking. and his love of crime fighting. As the Smoking Cape he is able to fight crime in a way that is not possible as the Mayor, plus he also enjoys the adulation that comes from being a costumed vigilante. Although he fights for good, he is a politician at heart and sometimes falls vicitim to his own greed and self interest. At all times he seems to be involved in scandel after scandel of some sort.
